The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY August 24, 2009...

Outside My Window...sunny, bright and hot. Also, a black widow spider we caught in a jar. She laid her egg sac last night. We're not sure what to do with her and her babies. Lollipop is crying out for arachnid rights! Hot Tamale's voice of reason calls out, "We need to kill them!".

I am thinking...Monday is a challenge!

I am thankful for...My Bible and First Principles Bible Study. So good!

From the learning rooms...I hear eating mostly. Schoolroom is the lunchroom right now.

From the kitchen...Not sure yet. Waffles were for breakfast, Ramen for lunch (yummy salad for me) , and maybe one of Hillary's recipes for dinner.

I am wearing...beige capris, blue t-shirt, ponytail, no earrings, necklace, and oh so comfy bare feet. Have you ever been in a meeting and wished you could take your shoes off and kick your feet up? I think I would focus so much better that way!

I am creating...a little outfit for Marshmallow. We'll see though since my pattern reading is very elementary.

I am going...no where outside my home. Just to the front porch to check on my widow friend. And maybe the back yard to check on my volunteer cantelope plant.

I am reading..."I Dared to Call Him Father", a book for Pixie's Literature group. Very engaging. I just started but I think I'll like it.

I am hoping...that hearts will melt and fall in love with God.

I am hearing...plan discussion for activity time and Lollipop playing with Marshmallow.

Around the house...I'm sitting at the only part of my desk that isn't covered with books and papers, toys here and there, books here and there. The usual signs of life.

One of my favorite things...Nap time. I did schedule that in this year.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: school, and home prep for baby shower. We're going to eat a variety of dips with bread, crackers, and chips. Spinach Artichoke, salsa, crab, pesto, and maybe something new. We'll also have Italian Sheet Cake, and whatever else sounds good to the new mama.
My mom and grandma are coming to town! Hurray! Can't wait for that. I wish my dad was coming too.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

I had to post a few pictures. Just love the faces today!

I love the pictures! You and your mom look so much alike in this picture. And the first picture is adorable. Such pretty faces! I can't wait to see what you are sewing. And good job on the post-poop dinner. Your posts yesterday were both so entertaining. Thanks!
