"A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich."
Proverbs 10:3
Proverbs 10:3
I wasn't drawn to this verse because of the "rich" part. I'm not sure what kind of "riches" this verse is implying.
I really liked it more because of what it didn't say. It didn't say that the hand of the gifted makes rich, or the hand of the talented, or practiced, or charming, or beautiful, or intelligent, or whatever! You can fill in the blank for yourself. I've already filled in mine.
It said "diligent". Hey, I can do that! Anyone can! Diligent means "characterized by steady, earnest, and energetic effort". Steady means "firm in position, fixed, not easily disturbed or upset"
Diligence!
So, stay the course, run the race, keep at it! Be diligent! You can do that!
