Marshmallow's and Jelly Bean's Fun Day!

Just remembered that I have a blog. Oooohhh, fun!

It's the day before Marshmallow's birthday and we're getting ready for
a fun birthday party. For various reasons I feel that I have spent the
last few years doing birthdays minimally. I still like this idea, but as I was
praying about the new year, 2012, I felt a renewed desire, which I believe is from God, to celebrate my "snacks" on their special days. This cannot mean more money to me, since
I don't have more, but that I convey a message from God to them. And that is
that they are special, important, worth celebrating, that they are "fearfully
and wonderfully made", that they were "knit together" in their mother's womb.
So, we chose to celebrate Marshmallow and Jelly Bean with a partaaay!
Here is a picture diary of our prep and partaaay.

Icing for the cupcakes
Sorry about the crummy photos.
Icing the cookies for the party favors.

Cupcakes. We took these to the park, along with our icing, sprinkles,
and candy so that we could decorate them.
One of our party activities. Fun!

The finishes cookies. We put them in little baggies
as part of our party favors. We also put in homemade
heart shaped crayons, a few coloring pages, and a paper heart
quoting Psalm 139:14.

The birthday girl in the morning.

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you....

A gift from her sister. Too sweet.

Me and some of my snacks.

The party set up.
We celebrated at a park near our house.

Our food buffet. I didn't take a picture until the kids had already gotten their food.
That's why it looks a bit picked over.

Some partyers.

I like my new barbie.

Marshmallow's cupcake. I love that face!

Jelly Bean's cupcake.

Present time. Since we haven't done too many parties for her this
was a real treat. She has so many sweet, thoughtful friends who
blessed her with wonderful gifts.

Look at the excitement on that face! She loves birthdays and gifts.

Crazy Kids

Birthday fun at Joe's BBQ
Marshmallow at Easter. She wore a dress up dress and felt very pretty!

Our Garden

Our Spinach
My Tomato. This is the only tomato thriving which I had started from seed.
Lettuce. Tip for debittering your lettuce: Cut it, wash it, and put it in the fridge for 24 to 48 hours. It goes into winter mode and loses it's bitterness. Cool huh!?!?
Squash and Pumpkin
Squash, Watermelon, potatoes and beans.
Carrots, tomato, zucchini, onions

I know I could set up a watering system, but I like to water the plants myself. It gives me an excuse to be out there.

My Soccer Boy

We just finished up our second round with AZSC. It was loads of fun!
Hot Tamale loves to play. He's learned a lot thanks to some really great coaches.
I've got to give it to him, he is a really good team player.

Newport Birds

Isn't this a beautiful bird? It is in this picture, but not so much when a whole group of them are swarming around you trying to take your food!

I thought it would be fun to hold out some food for them. Crazy!!! They are trained birds and they work together to scare the pants off of you.
